The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has donated food items to some churches and institutions to celebrate Easter as part of its corporate social responsibility.
This forms part of the Authority’s second mandate to support the needy, destitute and vulnerable in society.
The items presented include bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of soft drinks and boxes of canned products.
Director-General of NLA, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, together with management, presented the items to support the 2017 edition of Joy FM’s annual Easter Soup Kitchen which fetes thousands of underprivileged in society.
The Dzorwulu Special School, which caters for children with special needs, also received some items.
Additionally, six churches in the Atimpoku and Juapong, including the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Catholic Church and the Church of Pentecost, were also presented with some food items to support their annual picnics for the destitute in their localities.
Mr Kofi Osei- Ameyaw said the gesture forms part of the Authority’s corporate social responsibility and mission to give hope and happiness to society, particularly the underprivileged during occasions such as Easter to make them feel loved and cared for.
