KILLED: Priscilla Oparebea
The Kwabenya police have launched an investigation into the alleged murder of a 17-year-old pupil of the Kwabenya MA Cluster of Schools at Point One in Accra last Friday evening.
The body of the deceased, identified as Priscilla Oparebea, was reportedly discovered at her house on Friday, January 20, 2017, at about 8:45 pm by her father.
She reportedly had a deep cut in her throat and cuts at the genital area suspected to be ritual murder.
Eyewitnesses believed the alleged killer(s) might have removed parts of her genitals for ritual purposes, but no arrest had been made as at press time last night.
Information gathered indicated that the deceased lived with her father, Ebenezer Ofori, a commercial bus (popularly called trotro) driver, in a single room apartment at Point One.
In the morning of that fateful day, her dad reportedly left her in the house together with other tenants.
Priscilla Oparebea was said to have attended school that morning, but came back to the house around 1pm.
According to her friends, she complained of headache and so asked permission from her class teacher and returned home to seek medical attention.
The father, around 8pm, returned from work and discovered that the door was locked and the keys dropped in front of the door.
He reportedly picked the keys, opened the door only to discover his daughter lying in a pool of blood dead.
Mr Ofori called for assistance and later reported the matter to the police.
The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Effia Tenge, who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, said the Kwabenya police, together with personnel from the crime scene, visited the house to conduct investigation.
After conducting their crime analysis, the body was taken to the Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
