The second edition of the Liquid Sports Ghana Awards will be staged at the Siam Meeting Room of Kempinski Hotel at 6pm tonight.
This was announced at the launch of the event at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in the presence of Manish Nambiar, General Manager of the hotel, Adwoa Oduro, Marketing Manager of the hotel, and Managing Editor of www.liquidsportsghana.com, Erasmus Kwaw.
Dubbed: “Kempinski Liquid Sports Ghana Awards,” five awards will be presented to deserving winners, comprising National Male Athlete of the Year, National Female Athlete of the Year, Home-based Male Athlete of the Year, Home-based Female Athlete of the Year and a special Rising Triathlon Star award sponsored by the Ghana Triathlon Federation.
Mr Nambiar stated that his outfit was committed sports development in the country and rewarding deserving athletes.
“We have a legacy that extends beyond 100 years. Just last week, we celebrated our 120th anniversary,” he noted. Mr Kwaw, for his part, noted that his outfit was honoured to have Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City as a partner for the event.
He named the nominees for the national male best athlete as John Ampomah, Emmanuel Dasor and Sean Safo-Antwi. The nominees for the Female Athlete of the Year are Flings Owusu-Agyapong, Nadia Eke and Janet Amponsah.
For the Home-based Male Athlete of the Year, Martin Owusu-Antwi, Isaac Nkansah and Desmond Aryee are in contention.
The nominees for the Home-based Female Athlete of the Year are Beatrice Gyaman, Deborah Acquah and Regina Yeboah.
