The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, has said the 212 appointees of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) announced last Wednesday have been “received well”.

The National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (OPP), Prof. Edmund Delle, has called on the rank and file of the party to stamp out divisions within the Nkrumaists front. He said since the founder of the party, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, believed in unity and discipline, the need to stamp out divisions in the party had become critical.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has indicted the Ghana Health Service (GHS) for failing to pay more than GH¢61,000 being proceeds from the auction of nine vehicles into a non-tax revenue account since 2014 as required by the Financial Administration Act . The said amount was hurriedly paid into the account only last Monday after the PAC had served notice to the GHS to appear before it in respect of the disposal of government vehicles
Ghana risks being sanctioned by the International Secretariat of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) if the nation fails to address certain challenges that have been identified by the global institution. The challenges has to do with license registration in the extractive industry, state participation in the sector, and issues relating to production and export data.
