Ghanaian artiste, Kwame Nsiah-Apau, known popularly as Okyeame Kwame has received a United States Presidential Volunteer Service Award for his humanitarian efforts.
The award was pinned on him on Sunday March 19, 2017 in Ohio by in recognition of his Hepatitis B campaign in Ghana.
The Presidential Service Award, is given out ina recognition of voluntary community service towards development.
Okyeame Kwame in 2009 started partnering MDS-Lancet Laboratories to spearhead and fund the screening, vaccination and sensitisation of over 7,000 beneficiaries against the deadly Hepatitis B disease in Ghana.
The award was presented to him by Dr. Pauline Key, on behalf of former President Barrack Obama.
The congratulatory plaque had an inscription, Outstanding Humanitarian Service in Ghana.
The artiste expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged to intensity of his campaign towards ridding Africa of Hepatitis.
