The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso-West-Wuogon on Monday fete scores of fresh-year students who were not able to return home for the Easter festivities.
The open event which took place at the quadrangle behind the Balme Library saw the students fed with a variety of meals.
It also provided the opportunity for the students to socialize among themselves through indoor games such as ludo, draft and video games. There was also horse riding as a compliment to entertain the students.
According to the legislator, this was her small way of making sure the students were not left out as they were restricted due to academic responsibilities to join their families for the Easter festivities.
Lydia Seyram Alhassan urged the students to take their studies seriously and espouse the tenets of Easter. She took the opportunity to also wish the fresh-year students all the best in their lives.
‘My Children happen to be on campus at this time. Their Calendar didn’t permit them to go home, to join their parents and family… I am here to join my Children to celebrate games and have fun together.’ The MP noted in an engagement with the press.
