The New Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton has been officially unveiled at the SC Mall in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The 64-year-old who replaced Otto Addo, has been in charge of the team since last month, following successful negotiations with the Sports Ministry and the Ghana Football Association.
The former Newcastle Manager has been offered a 21-month contract which is subject to renewal based on performance.
Addressing Journalists in Kumasi, Chris Hughton insisted that while he can’t guarantee that the Black Stars will win trophies in his tenure, he will put the right structures in place to ensure that the team is equipped to be successful.
He, however, added that he and his team are committed to giving the national team the best chance to be successful by setting up the team correctly for matches.
“There’s not one coach, head coach or manager that will sit up here and guarantee trophies, not one because we cannot guarantee anything,” he said.
“What we can guarantee is we’ll work as hard as we can to put a team together to create the right tactics and the right mentality to put ourselves in the right position to do that.”
The Black Stars take on Angola in a doubleheader for the AFCON 23 Qualifiers.
Hughton said he was focused on leading the team to the next AFCON but whether they would win it was still up in the air.
