As the call for support for the victims of Appiate disaster intensifies, the latest institution to go to the aid of the people is Upfield Foods, the makers of Blue Band Margarine.
The company, led by its Marketing Manager for Ghana and French West Africa, Mawusi Mawuenyefia, donated boxes of Blue Band margarine and parks of bread to feed and nourish the displaced victims.
Speaking during the presentation to the MCE of Prestea-Huni-Valley on behalf of the displaced victims, Mawusi Mawuenyefia said the company’s goal is to make people healthier and happier with nutritious and delicious, plant-based products; hence the donation.
“When we heard of the unfortunate incident that had befallen the people of Appiate, we thought it wise to show our support to the residents by providing them with some of our nutritious Blue Band margarine accompanied some bread to keep them fed and nourished over the next few days even in these times,” she noted.
Bamidele Amao, who is the Managing Director of Upfield Foods, commended efforts by all stakeholders who are contributing to providing relief materials for the affected people of Appiate and said the company mourns with the families of the deceased.
He also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
