Water supply to some parts of Accra will be disrupted, following a shut down of the Weija Treatment Plant.
The Ghana Water Company Limited said the plant has to go off to enable the company determine the extent of damage to some major pipelines around the Obetsebi Lamptey interchange.
The shut down is expected to disrupt water supply to some parts of Accra.
“Management of Ghana Water Company Limited, Accra West Region wishes to inform our cherished customers that there has been an emergency shut down of our Weija Treatment Plant. The contractor working on the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange has caused damage to our major pipelines located at that roundabout.”
“Our Weija Plant had to go off to enable us determine the extent of the damage before fixing it. We are working seriously to resolve the problem. Water supply has been interrupted to the following areas: Accra Central, The whole of Accra West: Kasoa, Nyanyarno, Tuba, Amanfrom, Bortianor, Weija, Tetegu, Gbawe, Malam, Dansoman, Mamprobi, Korle-Bu, Mataheko, Awudome Estates, Kwashiman, Tesano, Abeka, North Kaneshie, Kaneshie , Odorkor, Dakuman, Sowutuom, Santamaria, and adjoining communities,” the statement said.
