Former Minister for Energy, Boakye Agyarko has called on Muslims in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to strive towards unity and peace in the area to ensure the development of the area.
He said the area will not be able to develop to the height it expects if all forms of acrimony and confusion are allowed to exist in the community.
The former minister said this when he led some supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the Municipal Chief Executive of Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, Simon Kweku Tetteh to attend this year’s Eid Prayers in the municipality on Sunday.
He donated a ram and an undisclosed amount of money to the muslim community in the municipality.
This year’s Eid Prayers by the muslim community in the municipality was marked at the Agormanya Aklomuase Park.
The prayer was led by the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Chief Imam, Yunusa Issah who gathered the various Muslim sects to pray for the country, President Akufo-Addo and his government, as well as other leaders in the country including those of the Krobo land.
The leadership of the Muslim community in Agormanya appealed to Mr. Agyarko to use his influence in the Kroboland to unite the divided Muslim community in Agormanya which they believe will foster development and social cohesion in the area.
Boakye Agyarko assured of his support and commitment towards promotion of peace and unity in the area, especially among the Muslim communities.
