About seven drivers of commercial vehicles at Madina-Zongo junction had a rude awakening on Tuesday morning when the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) team on its way to a location rounded them up for parking on the wrong side of the road.
The Madina Zongo junction is notorious for its unbearable traffic jam due to the habit of trotro drivers who have turned the junction into a bus terminal.
Citi News’ Caleb Kudah reported that after a quick stop to round up the errant drivers, the junction was cleared and the traffic situation improved.
The vehicles of the errant drivers were impounded and currently at the Adenta Police Station where the drivers are being processed for court.
One of the errant drivers who gave his name as Asante promised not to repeat the act.
Meanwhile, a decision of the police to make a detour and return to the area of the previous arrest saw a few more drivers arrested for the same offences.
The War Against Indiscipline campaign started by Citi TV in May 2019 to help bring sanity on roads in the country has helped the government to make over GHc258,000 in fines from errant drivers.
