Police in the Upper East Region have confirmed the death of one student of the Sandema Secondary Technical school following clashes between the school’s cadet and local police.
According to reports, some members of the school’s cadet punished some junior students on Tuesday.
The punishment led to clashes between the students leading to the destruction of school property.
Police in Sandema were called in by school authorities to calm the situation but that resulted in fresh clashes between the police and the rioting students.
The Upper East Regional Police Commander DCOP Ampofo Duku, told Citi News police managed to calm the situation, however no arrest was made.
