The Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira constituency and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Abelema Afeku, has been moved from the Ministry.
Catherine is being moved to the office of the Senior Minister as Minister of State at the Office of the President.
This announcement was made in a press statement signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency.
“Hon. Catherine Afeku Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira constituency and former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture is now a Minister of State at the office of the President, assigned to the office of the Senior Minister,” the release stated.
Since her appointment as Minister in 2017, a lot of people in the tourism and creative industry have criticised her for underperforming.
Some had even called on the President to fire her from her post.
However, there are others who had also expressed the opinion that she did her best to project the ministry.
The big question is, is the incoming minister Barbara Oteng Gyasi going to perform to the satisfaction of the stakeholders in the tourism and arts industry?
