The first annual gathering of business development hubs and technology innovators in the country has been held at the Tang Palace hotel in Accra.
The event is aimed at bringing together the various stakeholders in the technology industry to deliberate on key issues affecting the Ghanaian tech and hub organizations, as well as to offer solutions to help address the challenges faced by industry players.
Speakers at the event include Business Development Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Executive Secretary at the Vice-President’s office, Augustine Blay and the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation plan (NEIP).
Other speakers include; Co-founder of Workshed Africa, Andrew Bimpong, Mansa Ayisi-Okyere, Brian Dzansi, Ekow Mensah, Jewel Thompson among others.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Ghana Tech and Business Hubs Network (TBHNG), Jorge Appiah, explained that the idea behind the event is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation to help achieve economic growth and sustainable development in Ghana.
“We bring together all hubs, affiliates hubs and other ecosystem stakeholders for a close engagement and discussion on the role and the work of hubs in the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation, to help achieve economic growth and sustainable development in Ghana.”
At the end of the two-day event, organizers are expected to engage in an advocacy initiative to bring to the attention of stakeholders key economic development issues, and also suggest possible solutions.
The this year’s event is sponsored by the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung foundation.
