Fire guts four bedroom house at Achimota Mile 7

Fire has gutted a four bedroom apartment close to the Achimota Mile 7 post office.

The fire which started at about 1 pm on Friday destroyed a car in the house which is occupied by an elderly woman.

The fire service rushed to the scene after a report was made to them.

Speaking to Citi News, a family friend of the owner of the apartment, Nana Akyempimhene said the fire started from the garage in the house.

He described the blaze as “very severe”

Nana Akyempimhene also said it took about one hour, 20 minutes for the fire service to arrive

During that time, “everything in the house was destroyed. Not even a single pin [survived],” he told Citi News.
