Ghanaian highlife artiste, Jewel Ackah, will be buried today at Axim in the Western Region.
The highlife legend who died on April 27, 2018 was reported to have suffered stroke and other ailments.
His mortal remains has been laid in state at the Tema Community 11 Complex Park where the funeral is currently ongoing.
After that, the body will be conveyed to his hometown (Axim) for burial.
Already, family, friends and sympathisers including Former President Jerry John Rawlings, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Asiedu Nketia have gathered at the Tema Community 11 Complex Park to bid Jewel Ackah farewell.
Jewel Ackah composed for songs like ‘Joyce San Bra’, ‘Kyere Mase’, ‘Manye Yie,’ ‘Bodambo Bodambo’ and ‘Asomdwe Hene.’
The ‘Prince of Highlife,’ is also known for composing the party anthem of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He left behind 11 Children.
He was 73.
