Bright Simons, President of mPedigree, a system that allows consumers to verify the authenticity of medicines instantly, has been inducted into the 2018 Power Brands Hall of Fame.
Simons was inducted into the hall of fame for his pioneering role in fighting counterfeit medicine and products with his system which uses mobile phones to secure pharmaceutical products against counterfeiting.
Mr. Simons, who is a technology innovator, development activist, social entrepreneur and Vice President of policy think tank, IMANI Africa (in charge of research) has received some awards for his contribution to the technology space in Ghana and across the world.Due to his work in telecommunications, he was included in a list of the top 35 innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review in August 2013.
In 2012, Simons was also recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader and for the mPredigree Network.
He was nominated in 2017 for the Tallberg Global Leadership award.
Mr Simons has also been able to expand into the textile and cosmetics industries in Nigeria and Ghana.
