A youth group affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party calling itself the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo Patriots Network has dispelled rumors that the Member of Parliament for Bunkprugu constituency, Solomon Boar is against the nomination of John Kweku Alhassan as the District Chief Executive nominee for the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district in the Northern Region.
John Kweku Alhassan was earlier rejected by members of the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district assembly.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo renominated him and his destiny is hanging in the balance because it is unknown when he would be confirmed.
Several interest groups including the Konkomba Students Union (Gbintiri chapter) accused the Bunkprugu Legislator who doubles as Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Solomon Boar of damaging John Kweku Alhassan’s reputation.
But the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo Patriots Network in a statement copied citifmonline.com condemned attempts to disrespect the Bunkprugu Legislator.
The statement from the group is below
“The tribal politics and disrespect for the Deputy Northern Regional Minister must stop”
The Bunkprugu/Yunyoo Patriots Network has observed with a laden heart, the skewed attempts by some individuals who parade themselves as Komkomba Patriots forum to incite Konkombas, and His Excellency the president, Nana Addo against the Deputy Northern Regional Minister and by extension Bimobas.
It would be recalled that, the diabolic plan of these individuals did not start today.
Soon after the President nominated Solomon N. Boar as the Deputy Northern Regional minister, several disdain press statements were issued by these same individuals under the disguise of different youth groups that were nonexistent during the 2016 general elections against his nomination.
It is therefore not surprising that, the Hon. Deputy Regional Minister still receives several of such opposition.
Nonetheless, this is the beauty of democracy. In as much as we are not entirely against internal opposition, we are highly against ethnocentric statements like those issued by the Komkomba Patriots forum and other individuals of the Komkomba descent in the past days.
This rejoinder seeks to dispel the unsubstantiated claims by the concern NPP youth for Yunyoo.
It would be recalled that the Northern Regional Minister and his deputy Hon, Salifu Saeed and Hon. Solomon N. Boar respectively have both been accused by this group as having to have compromised the president’s nominee for the Bunkurugu/Yunyoo District, Hon.J.K Alhassan with monetary influence.
Again, that the Deputy Northern Regional Minister has also been accused of inciting chiefs and other Opinion leaders in the Bunpurugu/yunyoo district against the president’s nominee,
And lastly, that, Hon, Solomon N. Boar has vowed never for a Komkomba to become the DCE for Bunkpurugu /Yunyoo District.
We want to state without any shred of equivocation whatsoever that, Hon Solomon N. Boar and by extension Bimobas, have no any ill intention whatsoever against the presidents nominee neither do we have any ill intention against Komkombas.
It must also be stated that, JK Alhassan isn’t the first or second Komkomba to have been appointed as DCE in the district and of course, would not be the last Komkomba to be appointed.
In fact the first DCE for the then newly created Bunkprugu/Yunyoo District in 2004 was Elizabeth Pijit Poyari, a Komkomba who received 100% endorsement from the assembly members at the time. She served as DCE for good three years and six months until she was later relieved off her post by the then president J.A Kufuor.
Never in her reign was she ever attacked because she was a Komkomba. She was later replaced by Hon.
Thomas Ackaah, another Komkomba who also received over 95% endorsement and served as DCE for the district until the NPP party lost power to the NDC in 2008.
It is also a statement of fact that, the majority of Solomon N. Boar’s friends in his political journey so far are Komkombas.
So therefore, it will be very absurd and preposterous for any person or group of persons to mount on the wings of ethnicity to incite Komkombas against the Deputy Northern Regional Minister.
In any case, are the Northern regional minister and the Deputy having any voter right in the confirmation of DCEs? Since when did Assembly persons become partisan?
And lastly, are surrogates of Hon. J. K. Alhassan insinuating that the Assembly persons in the district do not know their left from their right? I leave these questions to the discerning Ghanaians.
In the case of our revered chiefs, they are imperative to the peace, unity and development of the entire Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo district and as such have every right to initiate steps towards preventing any looming conflict between t Bimobas and the Komkombas.
We would at all times support the chiefs in the district to always adopt proactive measures against any potential threat to conflict just as the one issued by the Komkomba patriots forum.
We want to conclude by stating that, the Hon. Deputy Northern Regional Minister who doubles as the MP. For Bunkpurugu constituency has no any qualms with Hon. JK, the President’s nominee neither has he any problem with Komkombas.
In fact, Solomon N. Boar has always had the agenda of consolidating the political gains in both Bunkpurugu and Yunyoo constituencies and therefore would not subject himself to any public ridicule by playing divisive politics.
We are convinced thousands of Komkombas from the Yunyoo constituency sees Hon. Solomon N. Boar as their own and as such, selfish and self centered individuals should not throw dust in the minds of Ghanaians.
We therefore call on the all stakeholders of the district to cease from passing statements that are injurious to the relative peace that we have enjoyed in the District.
We also call on the Northern regional Chairman of the NPP, Bugri Naabu to as a matter of fact allow the system to work without any undue interference just because J.k Alhassan is his nephew. The system is no respecter of relations.
Lastly. J.K Alhassan and his surrogates should endeavor to re-channel their campaign strategy to the assembly persons and stop attacking both the Northern regional minister and his deputy.
Long Live Ghana!!!
Long live the great NPP!!!
Long live Bunkprugu/Yunyoo District!!!
