The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, has warned MMDCES in the Eastern Region against being late to programmes.
The minister angrily made this statement at the conference hall of the regional coordinating council after waiting for several hours to address the MMDCES who had been invited to partake in a Local Government Sensitization training workshop organized by the Institute of Local Governance on Wednesday 21th June.
The sensitization workshop, which was scheduled to start at 9:00am began at 11 :00am, after the district coordinating Directors, finance officers and civil society organizations in the region failed to turn up early.
The Minister, who refused to read his speech, cautioned them not to repeat lateness to events.
“I have been waiting for several hours just to address you but you chose to come late, I am warning that let this be the last time you ever attend a program or an event late, I will not tolerate such attitudes in my era.”
The Minister later advised them to manage their time very well, saying: ” I know we all have equally important duties, but I must be frank with you, time is really of the essence in nation building and we cannot build our nation if we do not respect time.”
