The Unlocking Women and Technology (UWAT) group will be starting a project aimed at empowering women with technical and entrepreneurial skills.
The project will recruit and train interested women from diverse fields of professional practices.
UWAT will be targeting women in age ranges 6 to 17 and 18 to 35. The candidates will be invited for an interview to assess and understand their passion for both technology and business.
This will be followed by a selection the profiles most suitable for the project.
UWAT has said its project responds positively to the need of Ghanaian society as women will make use of technology not only to enhance their businesses and facilitate processes, but to build applications that will have a social impact.
For girls in Primary and Secondary school level, learning to program computers is important as it increases their choice of career path, UWAT has said.
The group believes that in this digital age, it is imperative that more women get involved in Mobile Application development by learning how to write and interprete code, work with different frameworks in order to become a trusted developer.
This will prepare the young women for the right career, right job and business opportunities. Persons interested in partaking in the project are entreated to visit www.unlockingwat.com
