Ecobank Ghana has rewarded 3,060 customers in the first draw of the ‘5-Star Enjoyment Promo’, providing financial cushion for the festive season. The ‘5-Star Enjoyment Promo’, which runs from now till January 31, 2026, is an initiative designed to appreciate customer loyalty and encourage financial prudence, aiming to reward a total of 10,000 customers.
The promotion is open to all Ecobank customers and prospective customers. Customers earn points automatically when they deposit in multiples of 400, take loans in multiples of 4,000 or transact via Ecobank digital platforms including the banks mobile app and USSD platforms. The first draw took place on December 13, at Ecobank Osu Branch, where the National Lottery Authority keyed in the entries into the platform in front of everyone and declared the winners of the various categories.
Speaking to the media at the draw, the Head of Marketing and Brands at Ecobank Ghana, Regina Ofori said the ‘5-Star Enjoyment Promo’, is the bank’s way of saying “thank you” to its customers. “For the whole year they have been with us, shown loyalty. We thought that getting to the end of the year, what could we do and give back to them? This gives us a fair opportunity to give all our customers a fair chance of getting a reward,” she stated, urging customers to take part in the monthly-draw promo.
In the first draw, 5 customers won GH¢10,000 each, 10 customers won GH¢5,000 each, 20 customers won GH¢2,500 each, 25 customers won GH¢2,000 each, 500 customers received one-year insurance cover worth GH¢10,000, 250 customers got gift cards – timed for the season of spending and gifting, 250 customers got fuel coupons, and 2,000 customers got airtime.
Mrs. Ofori noted “the most exciting one,” is the allocation of a one-year insurance cover worth GH¢10,000 each to over 500 customers. However, she said the opportunity is not limited to only existing customers. She stated that the promotion features three monthly draws, clarifying that the first draw rewarded customers who transacted in the month of November. She indicated that the December draw will occur in January, and the January draw in February. “If you are not even banking with us, this is your golden opportunity to come to us,” Mrs. Ofori emphasized.
She noted the promotion is meant to reward loyalty while encouraging financial prudence. “We know that in December, it’s a time of spending. However, January will come,” she said, alluding to the notoriously long and financially tense month often thought to have more than 90 calendar days. “As we are spending, we are encouraging those who are able to, to put something aside,” she advised. For those without the means to save, she said, the bank is offering loans to “ease their burden, so they can also be a part of the merrymaking.”
The promo draw is supervised by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) to ensure transparency, fairness and public trust. A Marketing Executive at the NLA, Priscilla Akuamoah, assured the public that customers stand a fair chance of winning. “We, as regulators, ensure that the data we get from Ecobank is without any friends and family. Even if it’s in there, we take them out and then we go through several checks. I can assure the general public that it’s free and fair,” she said.
