
Africa stands on the brink of a transformative energy revolution, with Accra, Ghana, set to host the Africa Energy Technology Conference (AETC) 2025.
President John Dramani Mahama, has officially confirmed his participation in this landmark event, scheduled to take place from 27th to 29th May.
AETC 2025 will bring together global energy leaders to drive discussions, forge strategic partnerships, and shape the future of Africa’s energy sector—further solidifying Ghana’s role as a hub for innovation and investment.
President Mahama’s participation underscores Ghana’s strong commitment to advancing energy technology, fostering sustainable development, and attracting transformative investments.
His leadership in strengthening energy security and expanding renewable infrastructure will be central to discussions on policy reforms, strategic investments, and regional collaboration.
Under the theme “Innovate, Invest, Implement: Revolutionised Financing for Sustainable Energy Growth in Africa,” AETC 2025 will serve as a platform for pioneering solutions.
Attendees will explore cutting-edge technologies, innovative financing models, and strategic policy implementations aimed at accelerating Africa’s journey towards energy independence. This conference is not just an event—it is a movement to establish Africa as a global energy powerhouse.
President Mahama will be joined by a distinguished array of dignitaries, including Omar Farouk Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO); Ghana’s Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor; Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA); and Sangafowa Coulibaly, Minister for Mines, Petroleum and Energy. Also attending are Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Birame Souleye Diop, Senegal’s Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Mining, Eng. Mohamed Hamel, Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), and Gabriel Lima, Chairman of the CAPS Investment Committee.
Additionally, NJ Ayuk, Chairman of the Africa Energy Chamber, along with representatives from key institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), Afreximbank, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Clean Cooking Alliance, and the GECF, will be present.
