Accra endorses Tulip Mirror ball

Last Friday’s Tulip Mirror Ball could not have had better attendance to mark the prestigious event’s third anniversary in Accra.

Stopping short of breaking the city ordinance codes for public gatherings, the massive turnout reflected the overwhelming endorsement by Accra’s trendsetters of it as the most consistent monthly premium event in Ghana.

The popular “Denim Dance” theme deserved the honour of coinciding with the third anniversary as a sea of white shirt and blue denim clad “delegates” let go of the August stress and unwound themselves in all sorts of orthodox as well as latest moves.

DJ Blow was on point with his delivery and punched out a winning sequence of old-school classics which helped evaporate any worries guests had encountered in the eighth month of the year.

The Golden Tulip Hotel, host of the fine event, in appreciation of the guests baked a lovely extra-large cake that fed as many “sweet-toothed” guests as were in attendance.

They also generously gave away five gift vouchers for two -- ranging from a complete weekend to meal packages for regular attendees over the years.

Courtesy of sponsor Johnnie Walker, the first one hundred guests were served the finest cocktails made from the world’s top blended whisky.

A professional mixologist was also on hand to dazzle guests as he put together the most attractive and colourful creations on ice. The Directors of Tag Team Limited, organiser of the event, were also presented with two Gold label bottles of Johnnie Walker.

The event was so well patronised that as of 3am guests were still trooping in after having received SOS calls from friends in-house, ensuring they were not lost somewhere else in the city.

There is a saying that “game recognizes game”, and the latest addition to the airwaves in Ghana -- Starr 103.5 FM -- also broadcast live from the lobby to enable guests who could not make it to follow proceedings remotely in chambers.

The next event on September 26th will be “Fire & Ice”, when guests can come dressed in a touch of red or white.

September ushers in the final quarter of the year, and on the last lap of 2014 organiser Tag Team Limited guarantees more exciting month-enders to reward your hard working self and loved ones.
