Otto Addo has entreated fans to not get ahead of themselves after boosting their 2026 World Cup hopes by beating Madagascar in Morocco on Monday.
A double from Thomas Partey and a close range finish from Mohammed Kudus gave Ghana a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Malagasy.
Ghana, with 15 points, are now five points clear of Madagascar in Group I of the qualifiers, placing them in a healthy position ahead of the final run-in.
But Otto, who helped the Black Stars to qualification in the 2022 edition, has entreated fans and players to remain focused.
“We are in a good position but this is also a danger and I’m already thinking about keeping our heads focused. The job is really not done. Maybe if Comoros win, we will just be three points ahead of them and it is still a long way to go. We have to focus,” Otto Addo told 3Sports after the game.
“I think we are in a great position, but this is also a danger.”

“If anyone thinks we are through then he is making a big mistake. I have seen a lot of football, a lot of things happening and we have to stay focused. I’m happy for today but the job is really not done,” he added.
Ghana have participated in four world cups (2006, 2010, 2014, 2022) and are aiming to make a fifth appearance.
