President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has hosted President-elect John Dramani Mahama and Vice President-elect Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at the Jubilee House, offering them a comprehensive tour ahead of their official assumption of office.
The visit allows the incoming leaders to familiarise themselves with the presidential facilities and operations that will serve as the epicentre of their administration.
President Akufo-Addo personally guided the tour, which included introductions to key staff members, a walkthrough of operational areas, and updates on ongoing policies and initiatives.
The gesture highlights the collaborative spirit of Ghana’s political system, highlighting the nation’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is set to make history as Ghana’s first female Vice President.
President-elect Mahama also acknowledged the importance of the transition process in maintaining Ghana’s stability and unity.
The tour comes a day before the official swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the iconic Black Star Square in Accra.
Dignitaries, including heads of state, diplomats, and high-ranking officials from around the world, are expected to attend the historic event.
President Akufo-Addo’s tenure formally ends on January 7.
