Workers of the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR) have lauded Johnnie’s Bite, a segment on 3FM and TV3, for helping them get justice.
The workers have for some time expressed dissatisfaction with the management of the ICOUR, calling for the exit of the Managing Director, Dr. Benedict Bonaventure Alegibam.
This call, among others, landed on deaf eyes.
The Host of Johnnie’s Bite was called upon to help in making duty bearers hear about the situation.
After many days and months of rants by Johnnie Hughes, the Managing Director was finally shown the door.
Expressing their gratitude for the intervention, the workers described the efforts of the show to get their Managing Director, Dr. Benedict Bonaventure Aligebam to resign as a classic example of raising issues and getting results for the good of society.
“Even though he did not meet us in person, he took the matter up by consistently bringing duty bearers attention to it. He did not charge us a penny for this selflessness and professionalism. All we can say is God bless him, and thank you, Johnnie Hughes. Ghana needs people like you in the media space.” The workers praised.
The host of Johnnie’s Bite on 3FM, Johnnie Beresford Hughes, has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the campaign he championed.
He is glad that his advocacy efforts have resulted in making retirees go to make way for young people to grow.
“I feel excited that young people who are looking for job opportunities to grow and build their career will get such opportunity. I don’t do what I do because I hate anyone. I do because people who are supposed to be home playing with their grandchildren are refusing to leave and give other deserving people an opportunity.” Johnnie Hughes said.
