The latest poll by Global InfoAnalytics between 28th October and 2nd November 2024 shows the ruling party’s candidate and the current vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB) trailing the leader of the main opposition, John Dramani Mahama (JDM) 52.7% to 40.1% nearly a month before voters head to the polls.
Nana Kwame Bediako (NKB), the leader of the New Force, attracts 4.0% of support while the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen (AKK) attracts 1.5% support, others are on 0.7%.
The poll suggests NKB is losing ground after his astronomical rise in the polls in recent times. The polling average for the fourth week shows JDM on 52.5%, DMB, 40.2%, NKB, 4.9%, AKK, 1.7% and others, 0.7%.
The poll also shows that the proportion of NPP voters defecting to vote for JDM has reduced and DMB appears to consolidate his base but still lags behind JDM on party loyalty.
However, DMB continues to lose ground among NDC and floating voters, suggesting that DMB may have to rely largely on his base to be competitive. JDM receives the backing of 98% of NDC voters while DMB receives the backing of 95% of NPP voters.
