Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that the NDC will establish a robust code of conduct and standards for all government officials to ensure their integrity and accountability if he wins this year’s elections.
He indicated that the NDC’s commitment to accountability will be unwavering.
“Our commitment to accountability will be unwavering. We will establish a robust code of conduct and standards for all government officials to ensure their integrity and accountability.
“In addition, I will hold a National Economic Dialogue, a crucial platform for all of us to discuss the true state of the economy and prepare a homegrown fiscal consolidation programme to guide the budget,” Mr Mahama said this in a Facebook post when he commenced his three-day tour of the Upper West Region, on Monday October 14
He further repeated his pledge to appoint his ministers for parliamentary fourteen days in office if he wins the election.
Also, he said, he indicated that he would constitute the leanest and most efficient team in the Fourth Republic to run his government.
“The questions and issues of concern to the members of the Regional House of Chiefs cut across all sectors of the economy, an opportunity for me to reiterate to the people through the chiefs and queen mothers my first 120 days Social Contract with the good people of Ghana.
“In line with the vision—Building the Ghana we want together—I have shared with Ghanaians that I will not only nominate my complete list of cabinet ministers for parliamentary approval within the first 14 days of my office but also constitute the leanest and most efficient government under the fourth republic in my first 90 days in office,” he wrote.
