‘I have forgiven him’ – Adane Best on alleged copyright violation by Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian Highlife musician Adane Best has said that he has pardoned Kuami Eugene following previous allegations of copyright infringement.

It could be recalled that in 2018 and 2020, Adane Best claimed that Kuami Eugene’s songs were influenced by his original works.

While speaking on the matter in a recent interview on Asempa Showbiz Review, the ‘Wo Bre Na Wenya’ hitmaker claimed that Kuami Eugene sampled melodies from his songs but added that he has decided to let the matter rest.

“Anybody who knows and understands music very well will know that once you hear a sound or music, you will know that it originates from somewhere. Especially my songs, (he’s sampled) a lot of my songs not only one. I don’t want to mention it on-air.

“It’s an old issue, and I don’t want to dwell on it, let’s forget it,” he said.

“I have forgiven him. I have wronged others before, so when someone wrongs me, like Kuami Eugene, I let it go,” he added.

Adane Best, whose real name is Joseph Amoah, acknowledged Kuami Eugene’s success in the music industry but advised the Lynx Entertainment artiste to continue learning and growing in his craft.

“Kuami Eugene is good, very, very good, and I commend him. But he should keep learning. That’s how it’s done. He doesn’t have to think he knows it all,” Adane Best remarked.
