KA Technologies, local suppliers of Laptops for the One Teacher-One Laptop Initiative, has described as misleading comments by the leader of the All Teachers Alliance–Ghana (ATAG) that the company has not undertaken training for teachers on ICT skills and has also failed to distribute laptops to teachers.
It has given Isaac Ofori a seven-day ultimatum to withdraw the said comments and apologise, failing which the company would advise itself.
The company is asking all concerns emanating from the implementation of the programme channelled through the Ghana Education Service (GES) or to three leading teacher unions; the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) to be resolved.
The company, in a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday, explains that since the stated entities were parties to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the project, they are better placed to facilitate post-execution issues and have them resolved together with the company.
The statement is in reaction to comments by one Isaac Ofori from All Teachers Alliance-Ghana disputing an earlier claim by the company that it has successfully completed the nationwide training and supply of over 300,00 Laptops to various categories of teachers who fall under the armbit of the GES,
“Similarly, I’ve been in three different schools, from the demonstration up till now, I’ve been posted to two different schools and I’ve not heard any announcement for a letter that we are going to be trained on the laptops. So clearly, evidence on the ground shows no training has taken place,” portions of Isaac Ofori’s interview stated.
But the company insists the works have been executed and the parties to the MoU are in better stead to validate the claims.
“Aware of the terms and the timelines of the project, the three leading unions are very conversant with the status of work on the project so far and have therefore not disputed progress of work as contained in our September 1, 2024 statement,” the statement said.
The company, however, says its doors remain opened to resolve all outstanding issues.
“If there are any post-implementation concerns, we expect them to be conveyed through their employers for resolution as highlighted in our September 1, 2024 statement in which we emphasized our 24/7 Aftercare Centers dotted across the country providing continuous customer and technical assistance to our cherished Teachers”.

Our attention has been drawn to a news item under the heading “Teacher union disputes K/A Technologies claims om ;laptop distribution“ attributed to an interview granted Citi News by one Isaac Ofori from All Teachers Alliance-Ghana and wish to respond as follows:
The comments are misleading and are imtended to disparage our corporate reputation.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the project was signed between the three leading teacher unions; the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), and K A Technologies, the local suppliers on one hand and the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES), the employers on the other hand and did not include the All Teachers Alliance-Ghana.
Aware of the terms and the timelines of the project, the three leading unions are very conversant with the status of work on the project so far and have therefore not disputed progress of work as contained in our September 1, 2024 statement.
We have no working responsibility with and towards the All Teachers Alliance –Ghana as we have with their employers, the MoE/GES and the three leading teacher unions as per the MoU.
If there are any post-implementation concerns, we expect them to be conveyed through their employers for resolution.as highlighted in our September 1, 2024 statement in which we emphasized “ our 24/7 Aftercare Centers dotted across the country providing continuous customer and technical assistance to our cherished Teachers”.
