The former General Secretary of Ghana Medical Association, and Parliamentary Candidate for the Lambussie Constituency in the Upper West Region, Professor Titus Beyuo, has pledged to provide a credible leadership of service to his people if elected to office.
Addressing party faithful at the Hamile lorry park on Sunday, September 15, 2024 to mark the official launch of his campaign as well as the campaign team members, Professor Beyuo assured the constituents that his leadership will focus on solving the pressing needs of the community, including improved healthcare, education and economic empowerment.
“The next NDC in Lambussei and Ghana is promising a different side of leadership. I pledge to a leadership of service, humility and accountability,” Prof. Beyuo said.
He added that he is ready to work tirelessly to ensure the voices of his constituents are heard and their concerns addressed.
Professor Beyuo, in February 2023, resigned from his post as General Secretary to go into mainstream politics to contest the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries.
He said his decision to venture into politics has been influenced by his desire to better the lot of the locals in the Lambussie Constituency.
“We remain a district without an inch of tarred road (other than the transnational road connecting to Burkina Faso),” he lamented.
The crowd of enthusiastic supporters cheered and chanted as Professor Beyuo outlined his plans. Professor Beyuo’s message resonated with the constituents, who expressed their confidence in his ability to deliver on his promises.
“We need a leader who will listen to us and work for us, and Professor Beyuo is that leader,” said Madam Bedawu Aziz, a resident of Lambussie.
Prof. Beyuo’s campaign launch was preceded by a “victory walk and campaign launch” where they passed through the main streets of Hamile.
In attendance to launch the campaign was the MP for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, Wa Central MP, Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, Rtd. Sup. Peter Lanchene Toobu, Wa West MP, Cletus Seidu Dapilah and Dr Sebastian Saandari of Jirapa and DBI Constituencies respectively.
Others were: Regional executives led by Chairman Nasiri Bunas and some party financiers, past DCEs, and constituency executives.
