A political analyst, Dr Sena Agyeman, has called on the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto to come clear with the full list of beneficiaries of the sale of AU village and LA Wireless lands.
According to the political analyst, his investigations has revealed that, the members of the NPP and opposition NDC officials including members of Parliament, the private sector, the judiciary and other public officials have purchased lands in these areas in a transparent manner from the Lands Commission based on official valuations of the lands by the Lands Valuation Board.
“I can tell you that some members and officials associated with the opposition and the private sector have purchased these lands for either personal use or for business.
“For instance, some members of the opposition bought and registered the lands in the name of their respective companies. l suspect that Ablakwa has deliberately listed the names of the NPP and the Judiciary and left other corporate and individual beneficiaries associated with the opposition ,” he told journalists.
“Again, the write-up from Samuel Okudzeto has some errors. For instance, the lands were bought from the Lands Commission. The lands weren’t bought from President Akufo-Addo as claimed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa”, he pointed out.
“I urge Okudzeto to publish the full list of individuals and companies who have purchased government lands from the areas mentioned above”, he mentioned.
He continued “We are aware that the sale of government lands is common to all administrations; both NPP and NDC”.
The political analyst, however, commended Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for introducing the Private Members Bill which when passed by Parliament will prevent government officials from buying state lands.
