Galatasaray supporters eagerly welcomed their new striker, Victor Osimhen, who arrived in Istanbul at 3 am on Tuesday.
Fans had stayed up all night after news broke that the Nigerian forward, who is the reigning African best player, had agreed to join from Napoli.
The streets of Istanbul were packed with excited supporters, and Osimhen was visibly moved by the overwhelming show of affection.

The striker was linked to several top clubs, including Chelsea, PSG, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli, before finally opting for a season-long loan to Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s move comes after his exclusion from Napoli’s squad following Romelu Lukaku’s arrival, which raised concerns about his playing time.
The loan deal, lasting until June 2025, includes a £75 million release clause, and Napoli retains the option to extend his contract until June 2027 if he isn’t sold by then. Galatasaray will cover Osimhen’s £9-10 million salary, but the deal does not include a purchase option.
Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in September 2020 for £79 million, scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 appearances.
He is set to undergo medical tests on Tuesday morning, with hopes of being registered for Galatasaray’s Europa League squad.
