A Labour Expert Austin Gamey has said that the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) will have to go through a total overhaul.
This, he said should be done without political consideration.
Commenting on the ‘Hands off Our Hotels’ demonstration organised by North Tongu lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa against the move to sell hotels belonging to SSNIT, on the Ghana Tonight Show on TV3 Tuesday, June 18, Mr Gamey said “There should be a clear-cut approach to resolving this SSNIT matter without political considerations so those who are in the habit of partisan or parochial when it comes to things of this nature, SSNIT is not one of the political things we should play with or toyed with under any circumstance should not be toyed with.
“The competence, structure, and character of SSNIT will have to go through a complete overhaul.”

North Tongu lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto has been raising issues against the move to sell the hotels to Minister of Food and Agriculture Bryan Acheampong.
He has petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice over this matter.
On Monday, June 18, he also organised a demonstration against the move.
Mr Ablakwa said earlier “This demonstration becomes absolutely crucial because of the latest intercepted documents, which reveal that SSNIT is proceeding with the transaction despite my CHRAJ complaint and despite the palpable public outrage.”
