The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to preach a message of hope to Ghanaians during his campaign.
Dr Bawumia has for the past three days been engaging identifiable groups, individuals, and chiefs in the Ashanti Region to outline his vision and seek their inputs in drafting the party’s manifesto.
Wrapping up his 3-day tour, Dr Bawumia and his campaign team inspected some road network in Kwabre East.

The constituency has been deprived of good roads despite its significant contribution to NPP’s electoral fortunes in the Ashanti Region.

Though government has taken steps to improve the road network in the area, the Chief of Kenyase, Barima Fredua Agyemang Ababio calls for more.

“We’ve been starved of good roads in Kwabre East for a long time. Fortunately, government has started working on our roads and so far for Kenyase township, all roads have been fixed. However, many more roads in the constituency are in terrible shape and need to be fixed”, he said.

The Chief and people of Mampongten also raised concern over their abandoned market project.

Responding to the call, Dr Bawumia assured the people of Kwabre East of attending to their needs when voted into office.
“The NPP appreciates the loyalty of the people of Kwabre East to the party. The market and road infrastructure will all be attended to when I’m given the nod to lead the country”, Dr Bawumia assured.

At the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene tasked the NPP flagbearer to come clear on what he will do to better the lives of Ghanaians.

“All Ghana needs is development. You must explain to Ghanaians to understand what you will you to add on or improve on your predecessor’s legacy to better their lives. That way, you can earn their trust”, Asantehene stressed.
Dr Bawumia also engaged with the business community and leadership of various traders’ associations in the region.
He also distributed tablets to over 4,000 students of the Opoku Ware Senior High school as part of government’s plan to provide tablets to each senior high school students across the country to aid in their education.
