Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Beatrice Agyemang has highlighted her outfit’s commitment to continuously support and nurture young talents in the entertainment industry.
Media General has for the past years through its various platforms and talent shows like Mentor, Talented Kidz, Ghana’s Most Beautiful and others provided opportunity for young ones to showcase their talents to the world and be celebrated.
She said Media General will not stop offering such opportunities as that has paved way for young talents to achieve their dreams and passions.
The 2023 EMY Africa Woman of the Year in her goodwill message aired at the awards, Saturday, June 1, 2024, stated that Media General collaborated with Charterhouse to make this year’s awards a reality because of significant impact and influence of the award scheme on Ghanaian music industry.
For “recognizing the immense talent that our nation has to offer, to celebrate the artistry and dedication of our musicians”, Madam Agyemang noted that “we also reflect on the journey that has brought us here. A journey marked by passion, creativity and an inflexible resolve to the art of music.”
“The awards have been incredibly impactful, empowering winners to take the world stage, thanks to the recognition they receive. Musicians are acutely aware of the leverage and opportunities these honors provide on the international front. The nurturing of music talents and the discovery of new artists have been significant outcomes of the awards influence.
“Media General also remains committed to supporting and nurturing talent, providing platforms for artists to shine and be celebrated for their contribution to the global music scene. It is for these reasons that Media General proudly partnered with Charterhouse, for the Telecel Music Awards. I am super excited about how the music industry has evolved over time,” she explained.
Mrs. Agyemang also emphasized the ways in which industry participants have used current technologies to advance their professions.
“In particular, the advent of new technologies has revolutionized the way musicians create, distribute and monetize their work. Digital platforms and streaming services have opened up unprecedented opportunities for artistes to reach global audiences, bypassing traditional barriers. Modern breakthroughs such as social media, crowdfunding and blockchain technology are further empowering musicians in all spheres.
“These advancements are not only making it easier for musicians to access their gains, but also helping them secure financial stability and thrive in a rapidly changing industry. This year’s edition is especially historic as it not only celebrates a 25-year legacy, but also honors the profound impact of music on our society,” she added.
