The Electoral Commission (EC) has paid a total of 116,211 temporary officials it engaged for the 2023 District Level Election (DLE) held in December last year.
The Commission said it has so far spent GHC69,164,842.11 with an outstanding GHC24,263.16 to pay some 47 temporary officials.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Michael Boadu, on Wednesday, May 8.
The statement said, “The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the General Public that following the District Level Elections held in December 2023, almost all the Temporary Officials who worked for the Commission have been paid as per the schedule below.”
“The Commission is modernizing its recruitment process for temporary employees, by digitizing its data collection systems. This initiative will enhance and improve the payment methods for all Temporary Officials and prevent delays.
“Additionally, the digital system will help streamline administrative procedures, reduce paperwork and ensure the accuracy and security of data.”
Moreover, Mr. Boadu noted that “this approach is a significant step towards optimizing operational efficiency and resource management within the Commission.”
