An Accra High Court has set the ruling on a contempt case against the Trades and Industry Minister, Kobina Tahir (KT) Hammond.
Lawyers for Assin North MP, James Gyakye Quayson want the court to cite his colleague legislator for contempt after he stated in an interview that Mr Quayson may as well leave Parliament after comparing his case to a former MP, Adamu Sakande.
KT Hammond, the Adansi Asokwa MP who was absent in court on Friday, July 28 has been asked by the court presided over by Justice Mary Maame Ekue Yanzuh to justify his comments by August 31.
Lawyers for Gyakye Quayson are also to file their written submissions by the same date.
The court will rule on the matter on October 19, 2023
