Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has, on Tuesday April 25, commissioned a one million dollar catheterization laboratory at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Dr Bawumia said this is the most advanced Cath Lab in the country, and its accompanying Big Detector, dyna CT and roadmap software and 3D workstation – these essential for the requirements for achieving accurate and effective minimally invasive treatments.
The equipment, he said, were was procured and funded by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) after an appeal from him to the Governor for the Bank to consider funding the acquisition of such an essential medical equipment.
The decision of the BoG to fund the project was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
