It was an emotional and sorrowful moment when the charred bodies of a mother and her two daughters were being conveyed to the morgue by the police.
Tears dropped nonstop.
The life of 28-year-old Mary and her two daughters aged 9 and 6 was cut short in a tragic situation.

They went to bed on Monday full of lives but that appeared to be their last night on earth. The three could not survive an inferno that gutted their room around 3am, Tuesday, February 1.
Not even their cry for help could lead to a timely rescue.
“We heard them shouting for help. Some of us gathered in front of the room trying to break in and rescue them. Unfortunately, the metal door was too strong for us to destroy. By the time the fire service personnel joined us to break the door, it was too late. We did our possible best but it was not enough to save the three” chairman of the community watchdog, Stephen Wundomor narrated to 3news.com.

The family and friends were left devastated. The reality dawned on them when they saw the bodies.
“This is terrible news to happen to anyone. As a family, it is very difficult for us to accept this reality. How can life be taken in a twinkle of an eye? ” Peter Gyau Antwi, a relative of the deceased quizzed.
A similar tragic incident involving a police officer and his family occurred at Apromase two weeks ago.
This latest incident totals to 6 the number of people who have burnt to death in a domestic fire in just two weeks.

The Ashanti regional fire command is worried about the turn of events.
“This is a serious issue. Usually, when such fires occur and the victims are asleep, they inhale the smoke and become weak to even open the doors. It is, therefore, advisable people install smoke detectors in their homes so it alerts them of the slightest of smoke in the room. Also, creating another exit in the house is key to escaping fire”, ACFO Henry Giwah, Ashanti regional fire commander noted.
Over one hundred fire outbreaks have been recorded in the Ashanti region between January 1 to February 1, 2023.
