Majeed Waris will continue his career in Cyprus after signing a two-year contract with top flight club Anorthosis Famagusta.
The former Ghana international joined on a free transfer after leaving French club RB Strasbourg last month.
“Anorthosis Famagusta announces the signing of a contract with footballer Abdul Majeed Waris. The agreement lasts until the summer of 2024.
“We welcome the footballer to our team and wish him every success with the “Phoenix” on his chest,” Anorthosis Famagusta announced.
Waris was linked with a return to Nantes, but both parties couldn’t agree on a deal, prompting the striker to look elsewhere.
Anorthosis are confident that Waris will play an important role for them this season.
The 30-year-old could make his debut for Anorthosis in a league match against Pafos on Saturday.
Waris has previously played for clubs such as Trabzonspor, Porto, Valencia, Lorient, and Nantes.
