The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will announce a new headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
The new sponsor will be introduced at a ceremony at the GFA secretariat in Accra.
3news.com can report that the new sponsor is betPawa and it has agreed to sponsor the country’s top-tier league.
Dr Tony Aubynn, a member of the GFA Executive Council, revealed in June that the new sponsorship will be one of the best in recent years, implying that the agreement between the GFA and the company despite the relatively short term, has enormous benefits.
The league has been without a headline sponsor for the past three years after a five-year, $10 million contract signed in 2018 between the Football Association and Zylofon Cash expired prematurely due to the financial institution’s dissolution.
However, its category sponsors including NASCO, were still in charge of Man of the Match and monthly awards.
