Asante Kotoko deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi has been handed a one-match ban by the Ghana Football Association.
The talented winger has been found guilty of breaching Article 34(6) (d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.
Gyamfi was charged with misconduct after Kotoko’s 3-2 win over Inter Allies in the Ghana Premier League last month.
Television cameras captured Emmanuel Gyamfi stamping on the foot of Inter Allies player Andy Okpe in an off-ball situation around the 65th minute of the game.
The GFA prosecutor saw the incident as improper and likely to bring the game into disrepute, thus dragged Gyamfi to the Disciplinary Committee.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty when he appeared before the DC and has been handed a one-match ban as well as GHC1, 000 fine.
This means Gyamfi will be unavailable for the club’s penultimate Ghana Premier League match against Bechem United this weekend.
