Family of the 18-year-old boy who was allegedly shot by soldiers in Techiman during the December 7 election last year are rallying support behind embattled Techiman South Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister Designate for Local Government and Rural Development, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah.
The support is in contrast to a boycott of the minister designate’s vetting by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members on the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
The minority members are accusing Mr. Korsah of having played a role in the Techiman South election violence which led to the death of two and six others sustaining injuries. They say their decision to boycott the vetting is to demand justice for all the victims of the December 8 violence.
However, the mother of Abdallah Ayaric in the company of her father both attended the vetting. He explained the MP, since the incident has shown extreme support to her and her family.
