A broadcast journalist with Citi TV and Citi FM, Caleb Kudah is reported to have been arrested by police officers Tuesday, May 11 for allegedly filming at the premises of the National Security ministry.
According to a report on citinewsroom, about seven heavily armed police officers stormed the premises of Citi FM/Citi TV in an attempt to arrest, Zoe Abu-Baidoo, another broadcast journalist, whom they claimed had received files from Caleb Kudah.
The management of Citi FM/Citi TV is said to have intervened and followed the officers together with Zoe to the Ministry of National Security for interrogation after which she was discharge.
Caleb however was still held up at the National Security for further interrogation.
“The information we have is that Caleb Kudah will be soon released,” a reporter who was at the National Security said.
Meanwhile, Head of Citi Sports, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, who witnessed the earlier arrest of Zoe at the premises of Citi TV/FM described it as scary.
“… 7 strong men wielding automatic rifles pursued Zoe from the car park into the kitchen, in Rambo style. If you really want to arrest Zoe, did you need to chase her like a thief? 7 men chasing this girl – imagine the trauma. No respect for the managers of the station, no word with anyone and just start chasing people around in their office. And what’s her crime? Caleb sent her a video. That’s what warranted the way the police acted. Is this really safe? The entire staff was scared to hell…”, he wrote on Facebook.
