The waves are still high in the ongoing #SharksQuiz with each contest either churning out new surprises or validating known conceptions. The battle between DPS International and Gondar Junior High School at the junior level was an outrun as the former, a finalist in the third season proved that they have been there before and knew their way around.
It started off on a pretty good note for DPS as they answered more of their questions in first round than Gondar did theirs. Out of the eight set of questions thrown at each school, DPS correctly picked four while their opponents managed one, scoring them 40 against 10. The leading team continued to make their mark in the R Cube segment. They outplayed Gondar Junior High School amidst a few lost points to gain 50 more.
STEM proved to be a stronghold for DPS International School. The practicality of which was observed in the sterling performance they gave. They seemed to have clear analysis and their approaches were right on target. At the end of the round, they made away with 70 salient points whilst their contenders commiserated with 10.
There was only one round to go and DPS was already leading by 115 points. The barracks contingents still had hope, though. There were still some points to be lost in the last round for every wrong answer given. If they played well, maybe they could change their stance. Or perhaps, there was another way they had planned to topple the leading team. But was 115 point difference that small to bridge in one round?
The on-on-one collision began; each representative taking on another from the opposing team, in their areas of excellence. Bout after bout, points were made and some more lost. Finally, the whistle was blown to end the contest. Gondar had made 10 points as against DPS’ 5. The good had been done already. DPS had performed exceptionally from the beginning and made the mark. They secured 165 points over Gondar’s 55 to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
DPS is a team to watch out for, this season. Their contenders must be fully robed to be able to take them on. The action has not ended yet. There are a lot more to see in the next stages of the competition.
