Poultry farmers in Ashanti region have resolved to petition the President of the Republic to intervene over alleged plan to replace eggs with imported mackerel in the school feeding program for senior high schools.
The farmers say the poultry business would be crippled should that decision be allowed to sail through.
Ashanti regional chairman of Poultry Farmers Association, Boris Baidoo told 3news.com that “this is not something that will augur well for the poultry industry”.
“Whoever is bringing the decision we are pleading with the government that it should not be entertained”, he added.
The Association is hoping to get a favorable response when it tables its concerns to the President on Friday, April 16, 2021.
