E/R: Fire guts shops in Koforidua

Fire has razed down shops in Korofiodua in the Eastern region of Ghana.

The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday December 15.

The cause of the inferno is not yet known.

Although the fire personnel were able to douse the inferno and prevented it from spreading to other shops, eyewitnesses said the officers arrived late after the call was placed to their office.

But the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Region Fire Service, A.D.O Ignatius Kwame Baidoo said they received a call by 10:04am informing them about the fire outbreak.

Following the call they quickly dispatched their Fire Tender to the scene.
