[Photos] NDC women hit Kumasi streets to protest election results
The women’s wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has led a protest on the principal streets of the Ahanti Regional capital, Kumasi, against the declaration of Akufo-Addo as the winner of the 2020 presidential elections.
They gathered at the regional headquarters of the party and marched through the principal streets of the city, heading to the regional head office of the Electoral Commission, clad in red and chanting ‘Mahama or no peace’.
They tell our reporter, Ibrahim Abubakar that they are dissatisfied with the way the Electoral Commission chair, Jean Mensa, declared the election results.
They also alleged the Akufo-Addo-led government is using the military to intimidate, and in some instances brutalize civilians who disagree with the government.
