Official: Asamoah Gyan joins Legon Cities
Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian football legend, Asamoah Gyan ahead of the 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League Season.
The 34-year-old joins the Accra based side after fruitful negotiations with management of the team, the Ghana Football Association confirmed.
Gyan’s reported move to his boyhood club, Asante Kotoko hits the rocks because of the former Sunderland man’s demands.
The former Rennes striker last played for NorthEast United in the Indian Super League. He was released from the club on January 15, 2020 after sustaining an injury that would keep him out for the rest of the season.
The fee involved is a million dollars in cash,
Gyan had always insisted on coming back to play in the Ghana league and this move will be a fulfilment of that dream.
Asamoah Gyan started his football career at Liberty Professionals in 2003. He scored 10 goals in 16 appearances in the Ghana Premier League before joining Udinese in the Italian Serie A.
